Trust in Jesus Christ For Salvation vs the Works for Salvation Organised Religions

When most people think of Jesus Christ in the world, they think of Him as a great teacher, someone to exemplify, someone to give your life to etc. Somehow this way of thinking has corrupted our very being. Forget about any works that you can do for God. To believe on Jesus Christ is the acceptable work of God.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sentJohn 6:28-29

I’ve prayed for people right there as the Holy Spirit leads and gives us compassion to help others, by lifting them up to God through prayer, because we as humans have no power. We are lost without Christ. A prayer in the Will of God (for all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth) is heard.

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth1 Timothy 2:4

However, I’ve also noticed that there is another more acceptable image of Jesus Christ, than Him who died on the cross– a hippy Jesus who accepts everyone. Yes, Jesus accepts everyone as they are, but He DIED a horrible cruel death for the sin of humanity, and it is only through HIM that sinful man can be reconciled to a Holy God. Jesus Christ IS God in the flesh, who came to redeem us from the penalty of sin, which is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GodJohn 1:1

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LordRomans 6:23

Jesus offended many when He was alive on earth. The Pharisees and sadducces believed in themselves and their following of Moses’ law to please God, so when John the Baptist called them vipers (Matthew 3:7, Matthew 12:34, Matthew 23:33, Luke 3:7), he was trying to get them to see that keeping the law could save no one and that the wrath of God was coming. He warned them of hell in Matthew 23:33.

God’s Plan of Salvation Through Christ

The repentance that John the Baptist and Jesus spoke of was a repentance of dead works – stop trusting in yourselves to please God, because that way leads to destruction because it is the broad way, and put your trust in the only one who can save you from the wages of sin which is death – Christ Jesus. They were blinded by pride, even when Jesus as truth spoke to them face-to-face. Jesus said to them that they didn’t know God because they would not come to Him for life.

39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour from menJohn 5:39-41

Jesus speaks the truth, and He is the way the truth and the life, and yet the legalists in His day would not believe. He is the only mediator between man and God.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto theFather, but by meJohn 14:6

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;1 Timothy 2:5.

The Fruit Inspectors

It is the same today by false teachers who teach that works must be present to prove salvation, even though the Holy Bible clearly shows that many believers were carnal. People like this, people who condemn others because they think they are sinless perfectionists are called fruit inspectors or legalists. They inspect everyone else but themselves. They are as corrupt as I am, and yet I’m a sinner saved by God’s grace and Christ’s blood washes away all my sin. This is the difference. I accept Christ’s payment for my sin, because all sin is paid for by Christ’s finished work. God’s gift of salvation is one to receive, and not a work to give God.

Salvation is a Free Gift of God

Most of the world is backwards on the gospel message of God’s amazing grace. We speak of grace without an understanding of what it truly is. When we speak of something to be too good to be true, it often isn’t, but God’s gift of salvation through Christ is something that is simple and easy to accept, and this is how salvation is taught in the Holy Bible. Salvation is entirely of God, and it must be taught as the Holy Bible teaches it, not man’s interpretation of truth.

In very subtle ways, these fruit inspectors or legalists get people to take their eyes off Christ, and onto themselves and their works. Do these teachers know what they are doing? I think some teach error because grace is evil spoken of today and they are tagging along onto the common teachings today, but then others are Satan’s ministers of righteousness who are hugely respected by this world because they have mega churches, yet the fruits they teach are not of God.

When Christ speaks of fruit, it is relating to doctrine, and not works, as most teachers falsely teach today. The reason why fruits equate to doctrine, and not works, is because all organised religions (minus the person of Jesus Christ) are attempting to merit heaven through some form of works. These ways, as pious as we believe them to be as humans, are not enough, as God requires perfection, and no one is because of the disease of sin. God requires perfection, and only the person of Jesus Christ, who was sinless perfection, could ever achieve the perfect Work of God. To attempt to work your way to heaven is prideful and a rejection of Christ Jesus, who loves us and died for everyone. I can only warn others, because there is only one way to heaven, and sadly the devil is winning is turning people against Jesus Christ, who is the only path to the father.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be savedJohn 3:17

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of GodJohn 3:18

Scripture clearly says that the one who does not believe on Christ is condemned already, so belief is clearly important here. Why would someone reject a free gift of God. It baffles me, but I also understand that this world today teaches a works-based salvation, but as believers we must defend the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Fruits Spoken of by Christ is Doctrine not Works

Christian denominations like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and the Roman Catholic Church have differing beliefs of who Jesus is. Even though they may say that it is faith in Christ that saves us, why can’t they stop there? Period. Reject the truth enough times and God gives a person over to a reprobate mind.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; – Romans 1:28

Remember, Jesus tells us that a good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and a corrupt tree bringeth forth bad fruit. False prophets teach a false doctrine rejecting God’s grace and Christ’s finished work, so they have evil fruit (wrong doctrine).

1Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them – MatthewMatthew 7:15-20

The good fruit is doctrine that brings life (salvation). False teachers twist God’s word and use it to scare others. This is not of God. God loves everyone and He cares to save souls. God wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of Christ (1 Timothy 2:4).

Jesus came to save souls, so teaching the correct way of salvation gives the believer the gift of the Holy Spirit and therefore seals a person with everlasting life. Bad fruit or false doctrine does not save souls, but corrupts God’s truth into a lie, and then people get corrupted into believing a work’s based salvation

God’s Holy Word clearly says that we are saved by grace, not of self. It is a gift of God, not of works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boastEphesians 2:8-9

This is important and matters, because the gift of God is all of Him, so our praise and thanks is given to God. Salvation is nothing of ourselves, it is ALL OF GOD. Only God’s plan of salvation can ever get us to heaven. This world has always discredited Christ’s work, and instead created a way of salvation that seemeth right to the human mind, but scripture says that this will lead to death. Christ gives eternal life, and yet working our way to heaven will only lead to death.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man,but the end thereof are the ways of deathProverbs 16:25

Working our way to heaven makes logical sense. However, this is not the truth. Unfortunately, man’s philosophy and pride has gotten in the way of truth, and sadly the grace of God is evil spoken of by many teachers today. In essence, the good news of Jesus Christ and His work in reconciling man to a Holy God through His obedience to God, is negated, and instead it is labelled easy believism or cheap grace. This type of talk is offensive to God, and believers who are trusting in Christ’s finished work.

In Matthew 7, when Jesus speaks of the strait gate and the narrow way, He is speaking of Himself.

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 because strait isthe gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find itMatthew 7:13-14

The broad way is all works-based gospels taught today, plus all organized religions of this world, and the narrow way is Jesus Christ. We must trust in Him for eternal life, and when we do so we are sealed with the Holy Spirit forever.

in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promiseEphesians 1:13

He completed the will of God, and all we have to do is to believe that He did this for us.

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sentJohn 6:29

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last dayJohn 6:38-40

We all have a sin debt that requires payment, so are you going to trust in Christ, or try to work it off yourself like religions like Catholicism teach. Works cannot save, and they never can please God. However, the work of Christ did.

26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself Hebrews 7:26-27

  1. You say “Jesus Christ IS God in the flesh” forgetting that God Himself declared Jesus to be His only begotten beloved son and that God is an all-knowing Eternal Spirit Being no man can see, though Jesus was seen by many and Jesus had a birth (a beginning) and a death (an end) as well did not know everything, but knew very well he could not do those things with out his heavenly Father (Jehovah) Who is greater than him (Jesus)

    • I understand what you are saying, but the scriptures also makes reference that Jesus is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God – John 1:1. I and my Father are one – John 10:30
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God – John 20:28.

  2. You also have it about a “False prophets teach a false doctrine” but yourself are teaching the false human doctrine of the Trinity, instead of preaching the God of Jesus Who is the God of Abraham and a Singular Eternal Spirit Being.

Please do not forget the way you are mentioning should be Jesus. Jesus is the Way to God and not to himself, like he also did not pray to himself nor asked himself why he would have abandoned himself. Jesus put his own will aside to do the will of God. In case Jesus is God than he would also have done his own will.

    • The Holy Spirit has a work to convict the world of sin. Jesus Christ paid for the sins of humanity. Therefore, only His perfect work unto the Father could make a human righteous. He is the path to God. It is righteousness in His Work that make us right with Father God. Jesus brings us back to God because of His perfect work and His obedience unto the Father. It is nothing that we do because we are sinners saved by grace. Yes, we should do works, but these have no bearing on our salvation. Salvation is all of God though the son. Through fellowship with God, we begin to bear fruits. This is only because of the indwelling Holy Spirit within us that manifests the fruit, over time. The fruits of the spirit are described in Galatians 5:22-23.

      • Somehow you seem to contradict your own way of thinking. One way you consider Jesus to be God the father but next you say he is “the path to God. It is righteousness in His Work that make us right with Father God.” At the same time you make of God a very cruel being, having waited such a long time before coming to earth to fake his temptation and death (because God cannot be tempted nor die). [As the Bible tells us and as Mr.Ampe remarked also.]

As you say “The truth is found in scripture.” so, why do you not accept the words of God and the words of Christ about their position and relation to each other?

      • Jesus is God, the second person of the trinity. The Holy Spirit also is God, the third person of the trinity who indwells believers. He gives us a second birth – a nature that cannot sin. However we still have our first sinful nature. By grace do we grow in the knowledge of Jesus, as scripture tells us.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen – 2 Peter 3:18

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one – 1 John 5:7

Jesus is fully God in the flesh and He was tempted as a human being, yet cannot sin. God came to save sinners, and salvation is a gift as it says in Ephesians 2:8-9.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast – Ephesians 2:8-9

No human works can appease God Almighty, but Jesus reunites us with God when we believe that He died for our sin. Salvation is what God has done for us, and not what we do for God. Separate salvation from discipleship, because they are separate.

I and my Father are one – John 10:30

        Jesus was from the beginning.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.- John 1:1-3

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth – John 1:14

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth – Genesis 1:1

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth – Genesis 1:26

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty – Revelation 1:8

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily – Colossians 2:8-9

      • Pity you understand those verses that way and do not believe what God says about Himself and Jesus. We do hope, you shall come to see the Biblical truth and shall come to accept that God does not tell lies and is an all knowing eternal Spirit, Who can not be seen by man, nor can be tempted or killed. Whilst Jesus is a son of man, having had a beginning (birth) and an end (death) who had to learn everything and even did not know a lot of things when he died. He even did not know when he would be coming back or who would be seated next to him in the Kingdom of God, or he did not tell the truth. Also think about what this farce would mean if Jesus would be God. Then God would be a very cruel being, telling a lot of lies and being cruel having waited such a long time before faking His death and so called salvation of man, whilst He lets mankind still suffer so much. When Jesus is not really a man mankind has still no proof that a man can stand up from the dead and as such with your way of thinking you take away all the hope man can have in the resurrection of Christ.

Jesus, even while walking on the earth saw Nathanael. This is evidencencing his omniscience.
There is also evidence of his omniscience when he is speaking to the woman at the well in John 4, as he knew she had five husbands.

If Jesus was just a man as you say he was, he would not know these things.

  3. furthermore you talk about the work of Christ, but at the same time you minimise it. Because man can do God nothing and God cannot die. So when Jesus would be God he would have faked his temptation (because God cannot be tempted) , would have told many lies though God does not tell lies according the Scriptures, and would have faked his death (because God cannot die) and faked his resurrection, taking away any proof that man could rise out of the dead. So you are taking all hope away we could have in the resurrection of Christ Jesus.

    • The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. The truth is found in scripture. Many people today believe in some form of works to merit heaven, even though scripture clearly tells us that salvation is a gift of God, given through faith (belief). Belief is mentioned 85 times in the Gospel of John. Therefore, it is imperative that the correct gospel is believed, and that this same gospel is preached unto others, because the last thing we want to do is to teach an accursed gospel, or a gospel that front loads or backloads the gospel with subtle works. Salvation and discipleship are separate. God knew that humankind could not save themselves, because of sin, which is why God came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to die for us. God has died for all of mankind, but only those who trust in Christ as Saviour, will be saved. This is made clear in John 14:6.

      • Nowhere in Scripture is written that God came into the flesh to fake His temptation, death and resurrection (because God cannot be tempted nor die, though Jesus was tempted more than once, bullied and killed, though man can do God nothing).

John 14:6 says (in the American Standard Version)

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but [a]by me.

Indicating that we can come to God Jesus his heavenly Father by believing and following Jesus? Nowhere does it says that Jesus would be God.
Also do not forget that Jesus told those around him that he could do nothing without his heavenly Father Who is greater than him.

John 14:28 American Standard Version (ASV)

28 Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.

      • Be careful with modern versions, as many cut out important doctrine like the deity of Christ, his precious blood that gives the remission of sins, and removes the word Godhead.

      • Yes so many bible translations left out God’s Name Jehovah and changed it into “Lord” so that people got confused and did not know the difference between God the Host of hosts and Lord of lords and Jesus Christ also a lord but not the Most High Lord, Jehovah God Who is One.

        Like

      • That doesn’t make any difference. In the Old Testament,LORD is God, because His name is in all capitals. In Red Letter Versions of the Bible, Jesus’ words in the New Testament are in red. I don’t think people are confused because Jehovah’s named was changed to Lord. Are you a Jehovah’s Witness?

Back onto my comment about bible versions. You have preciously referred to the American Standard Version when you give scripture. Here for example, is the ASV of Colossians 1:14: in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:, but the KJV states: in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: This is the problem with modern versions. It takes out the power of Jesus’ blood. Without the blood sacrifice there would be no forgiveness of sins.

      • I am not and never have been a Jehovah’s Witness but I do believe in the God of the Bible, Jehovah, Who is the Eternal (= no beginning = no birth + no end = no death) Spirit God Who no man can see.

You write “In Red Letter Versions of the Bible, Jesus’ words in the New Testament are in red.” what would be the problem with that, making it clear what Jesus himself says? In a Blue letter Bible it is in blue. but that does not make him to be God, Who Jesus declared to be greater than him.

The bloodsacrifice is the blood of Christ who gave himself as a lamb for God. It was not Gdo Who gave himself to himself nor never prayed to himself or asked himself why he would abandoned himself (something which is not possible)

  4. Only God is Savior. Jesus Christ is Savior. Jesus Christ is God.

The LORD, Jehovah, says, “. . . before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.” The LORD, Jehovah, says, “. . . beside Me there is no Saviour.” Isaiah 43:10, 11 (See also Isa. 44:6, 8; Deut. 4:39.)

Therefore, if Christ is God in any way, if Christ is the Saviour in any way, then according to the LORD God Jehovah, Christ is GOD.

Luke 2: 11 says, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

Since Christ is the Saviour, then Christ is GOD.
